What Edge Vision handles
QwickSoft’s Edge Vision capability is organised across two platforms: QVision for monitoring and security, and QCount for automated product counting and dispatch verification.
QVision: Monitoring, security, and compliance
Camera health monitoring spots a failed or tampered camera feed right away, before any unmonitored window creates a gap for trouble. Failure alerts and tampering detection come built-in, active the moment the system is switched on.
Intrusion and perimeter monitoring keep tabs on restricted zones. Loitering detection catches anyone lingering too long in the wrong place. Human and vehicle classification cuts down on false alarms by telling real movement from background noise. This means less alert fatigue and more peace of mind for everyone.
Fallen person detection spots when someone on site is in trouble and kicks off the right response, no waiting for a supervisor to catch it.
Intelligent search allows operators to locate a specific event in hours of recorded footage within seconds, using parameters such as colour, object type, direction of travel, time window, or a combination of these. What used to take an investigator an afternoon now takes a query.
Compliance and quality auditing bring the same smart vision to manufacturing and production. On assembly lines and factory floors, QVision keeps watch, checking conditions against the rules and flagging anything off to supervisors in real time. This stops small incidents from turning into big problems.

QCount: Automated product counting and dispatch verification
QCount takes on one of the oldest headaches in logistics and warehousing: making sure every vehicle leaves with exactly the right load. Manual ramp counting is slow, error-prone, and usually finds mistakes after the truck is already gone and the paperwork’s been signed.
QCount automates this entirely. The system operates as three connected components.
A headless counting engine runs on an Intel N100 edge device installed at each loading lane. It processes the live camera feed through an object detection and tracking pipeline that identifies each item, assigns it a persistent identity across frames, and counts it once. The counting engine has no user interface and no direct access path. All visibility into its status, including live count, camera health, frame rate, and movement signals, flows through the master system.
A mobile app allows the delivery manager at the ramp to photograph the truck on arrival, confirm the target load quantity, and close the job when physical loading is complete.
The master system receives live count data over a secure, authenticated channel, manages job records, displays a live dashboard, generates final shipment reports, and sends variance alerts to managers when a final count does not match the confirmed order. If a network interruption occurs at the ramp, the edge device holds the final count locally and retries the push with automatic backoff until the master system acknowledges receipt. No count is ever silently lost.
QCount is in production at a manufacturing facility in South India, where it verifies the exact quantity of goods loaded onto each truck against the confirmed shipment order before departure.

Data privacy, accuracy, and latency
These three questions pop up in nearly every Edge Vision conversation.
On data privacy, QwickSoft usually recommends on-premises processing for sensitive operations. Visual data is captured, analysed, and stored entirely within the client’s infrastructure. Hybrid setups, where edge devices detect locally and send summaries to the cloud, are only used if the client’s needs and policies allow it.
On accuracy, detection pipelines are set up and fine-tuned for every deployment, factoring in lighting, camera angles, object types, and each site’s unique quirks. Accuracy is proven with real footage from the actual site, not just numbers from some far-off benchmark.
On latency, all the heavy lifting happens right at the edge device. Detection, classification, and alerts are handled on the spot, so the system can react to breaches, count changes, or compliance issues in real time.
A note on sign language interpretation
